The elephants of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, are part of the greatest remaining population in Africa.
Steve Nagari has witnessed close-up how thirsty they become in October, the hottest and driest month of the year. This image has been taken from an underground hide, near a drinking pan at the Ngamo plains of Southern Hwange. A herd of elephants had just arrived eager to get a long thirst-quenching drink and Steve immortalised a family which was only a few metres away.
